DIRECTOR, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Main Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for developing and implementing information technology strategies and policies in line with the organizational needs of a future-focused digitally driven financial institution. The Director, IT provides leadership, vision and direction for the development and implementation of an enabling information and communications technology environment to optimally use ICT to deliver the organizations’ products and services.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an integrated enterprise-wide ICT strategy to support the achievement of the organization’s mandate and overarching strategy.
- Map, plan and maintain the organizations’ enterprise architecture to optimize the department’s resource utilization.
- Oversee, in conjunction with heads of user departments, the planning and execution of IT projects and initiatives which improve organizational effectiveness, efficiency and service delivery.
- Oversee the acquisition of all ICT solutions for the organization; maintain good working relationships with vendors and negotiate with vendors on the organizations’ behalf.
- Continually review the organizations’ ICT environment and engage with senior management to identify and recommend opportunities to cost-effectively improve the organizations’ ability to execute its mandate and strategy.
- Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of the appropriate cybersecurity processes, procedures, protocols, and equipment to ensure the safety of the organizations’ data as well as that of its customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
- Formulate, compile and manage the department’s budget to ensure availability and development of resources to meet the businesses’ evolving needs.
- Review ICT needs and makes recommendations for delivery strategies including outsourcing.
- Collaborate with internal customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities to use technology to improve business processes, promote the strategic use of information technology, and optimize the use technology within the organization.
- Provide specialist advice when required, advising on solutions to technical problems in order to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Oversee the design, installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance, and effective use of all ICT systems across the organization.
- Establish and oversee the implementation of security processes and procedures including access, data recovery and operational back-ups to ensure the security and integrity of the organizations’ data.
- Review end-user requirements and suggest ICT solutions which will optimize the organizations’ use of ICT.
- Liaise with ISP and infrastructure network service providers to implement value for money networking solutions for the organizations’ network of properties.
- Works closely with user departments in the development of ICT capabilities to manage systems and applications.
- Monitor delivery of services from consultants and contractors and negotiate and manage Service Level Agreements to protect the organizations’ interests.
- Manage major ICT projects, champion the use of ICT throughout the organization and develop clear criteria to evaluate the success of ICT projects.

Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related area.
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related area is an added advantage.
- Specialist qualifications such as Microsoft Certified Engineer or CISCO Certified Professional is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Ten (10) years’ experience in a bank or other mass market financial institution including at least three (3) years at senior management level.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience leading data management and digital transformation exercises is highly desirable.

MANAGER, MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTS
Main Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for overseeing the management accounting function within the organisation, ensuring that all reports/documents, policies and processes are both accurate as well as compliant with statutory requirements. Responsible for the preparation and distribution of accurate budgets and forecasts which facilitate the development of business plans and alignment with organisation’s strategic objectives.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Examine the completeness, reasonableness, reliableness and accuracy of financial transactions.
- Assist Chief Finance Officer with the development of internal control and accounting systems.
- Prepare the annual financial statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Monitor strict adherence to accounting timetables for the preparation and production of accounts and financial statements.
- Prepare monthly management accounts for the Chief Finance Officer’s review.
- Assist in the budget development process and ensure alignment with the organisation’s strategy.
- Ensure that management accounting staff are carefully recruited and trained to use the appropriate accounting practices.
- Liaise with IT on the implementation of ICT applications to support the efficient and accurate recording and processing of accounting information.
- Manage the ledger and journal preparation process and assist staff in resolving accounting queries.
- Prepare reports to be submitted to the Chief Finance Officer which include recommendations on accounting processes and queries.
- Identify key performance indicators, in collaboration with the Chief Finance Officer and Executive team, and report on the same to the Chief Finance Officer on a monthly basis.
- Develop, in conjunction with the Chief Finance Officer, and implement a costing approach / methodology with provides the necessary level of detail for management to make informed decisions about the strategic and operational direction of the organisation.
- Conduct detailed profitability analysis for all of the organisation’s offerings and present findings to the Chief Finance Officer and executive committee.
- Liaise with relevant departments on business forecasts and estimates across the organisation’s product and service lines and prepares revenue estimates based on business and economic forecasts.
- Prepare monthly management reports and analysis of expenditure and revenue against budgets and forecasts.
- Review cost and expenditure base and forecasts and prepare zero-based estimates as required to reflect more accurate cost estimates.
UNDERTAKE OTHER RELATED ACTIVITIES AS DIRECTED BY CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Membership of an internationally recognised institute of professional accountants (BICA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, etc.) or equivalent professional qualification or relevant master’s in accounting, Finance, Financial Management or equivalent.
Experience:
- Five (5) years’ experience in a financial management and/or accounting role (preferably at a bank or other mass market financial institution) including at least two (2) years at a supervisory level.
- Demonstrated experience utilising a computerised accounting system and detailed knowledge of contracts and change order documents is essential.
