Botswana Savings Bank extended a helping hand by donating computers to Noka Ya Botshelo Primary School in Kasane. Speaking at the occasion to handover the computers, Botswana Savings Bank Acting Managing Director, Mr. Leatile C. Maine, said that donating such items was a positive step in assisting Government to deliver quality education to all.
He said that Information Communication Technology (ICT) is essential for competing in the modern world hence a need to tackle it at tender age. "Investing in a child's education is a way of creating future capacity that will elevate our country into the first world. The Bank takes pride in donating to the youth as it leaves a memorable foot print as well as contributing towards Vision 2016 Pillar of an informed nation", Mr. Maine highlighted.
Mr. Maine was positive that the donated computers would assist in formulating a solid foundation for delivering exceptional results in education sector. He further said that Botswana Savings Bank was eager to forge cordial relationships with various stakeholders in improving the people's standard of living in Botswana wherever possible.
For her part Parents Teachers Association Chairperson, Mrs. Leanne Britton was thankful for the goodwill gesture displayed by the Bank. She said that BSB came at a time when they needed funds for erecting a school hall, initiating computer lessons and sport activities. To this end attaining one item from the list of their requirements was a significant milestone in their quest to develop the school. The Bank donated six (6) computers to Noka Ya Botshelo.
